The Red Lion and Sun is a privately owned public house with two beer gardens, wood burning fire, daily changing menu, great wine list and whisky galore.
Our chefs serve freshly prepared and cooked meals every day from noon – 10pm.
There has been a public house on this site since the 16th Century.

We pride ourselves on offering rustic modern British pub food, thoughtfully sourced from esteemed suppliers, including Natoora, Flying Fish Cornwall, Clarence Court Eggs, Portland Shellfish, Rossmore Oysters, Aubrey Allen Butchers, The Tomato Stall, Jai’s Ice Cream, Caravan Coffee Roasters, and Seven Seeded Artisan Bakery | Brown & Forrest Smokery.
Our menu is updated every day, with new offerings posted on our website by 11 am.
The largest group booking we accept is 8 people including children, toddlers, and babies (Inside and out).
As the back garden is not covered, we will only take reservations for these tables 48 hours in advance, and it will be weather dependent. You must phone us to reserve the tables in the rear garden.
Please do not try to book multiple tables to make large groups as we will have to cancel your booking.
Please arrive on time for your booking. If you are 15 minutes past your booking time, we will cancel your booking. If you are unable to make your booking, please call us to cancel so we can give the table to someone else.
If you have children, please count them as one person when counting how many people you are for the booking. Dogs, please let us know in your booking notes that you have dogs so we can make sure your table has ample space and so we do not put you next to other bookings that have dogs.
Please note:
Bookings of 1-2 are for 1.5 hours
Bookings of 3-4 are for 2 hours
Bookings of 5-8 are for 2.5 hours
Bookings from 7.30pm onwards are for the rest of evening.
Outside:
We only have 4 tables in the front garden that can accommodate 8, please note it is a very snug table of 8 people.
The front garden has a marquee roof on it, and the sides are open for plenty of air flow.
Located in the leafy rural haven of Highgate Village overlooking London, our pub is within walking distance of Hampstead Heath, Kenwood House and Highgate Cemetery.
We welcome friendly dogs, well behaved children, and their owners.
